The Savoy Hotel London 1965

This photo was lost for a long time and I had a difficult time restoring it. Not enough attention was paid to some of the things in those days that would later become precious. This was my first hotel away from home after the Gresham. Needless to say I was shaking in my boots on my first day but I got the hang of it. I was nineteen in this photo.
The older man you see between the two people in morning wear was the Executive Chef, Monsieur LaPlanche. He worked at the Savoy when Auguste Escoffier opened it. Escoffier was one of the greatest chefs.
