We didn't state our feeling because we didn't want to put words into anybodies' mouths. These pictures were found among papers that were obviously closely guarded by our mother, because we had never seen them before. Our great grandfather (James Waddell) was a dispatch rider in the Scots Guards. These people are dressed like dispatch riders. The uniforms resemble the Scots Guard uniforms from the 1st world war era. The emblems on the hats appear to have the general shape of the Scots Guard emblem. Could you blow up the tallest man's face Jimmy. Our great grandfather was over 6 feet tall. See if you can pick out a typical Waddell face in the group.
Done. There is a little bit of the waddell look about him but not quite enough for me. I will leave it to Mam as she has a sixth sense for this. Great photos. Keep them coming Dor. What a family we have.
I can see a resemblance in this man....I was speaking to mam about this today and she also commented that they looked like Scotsmen and that her grandfather was very tall...could be right and yes the fact that Peggy had special place for them would certainly indicate this to be the case.
I have studied this photo to see if there is any Waddell look alike and the thing i see is the long nose and the short upper lip,it must mean something if your mam had it kept so safe Dor anyway i for one will be saying its our great grandfather and very proud to say so.
The man in the middle bears a small resembelence to Sean, Terrys boy. but after looking at this photo, I would be inclined to say that the man on the far left is related. he looks much more like us I think.. The long nose and the jaw line..
