Dudley and I were out in the whipping wind and the lashing rain today. The only other living creature was this crane waiting for fish in the Umpqua River. How lucky we are to witness such beauty. These are the kind of days I love here or in Europe for that matter. I have always loved the rain.

I've never been to England, however spring time in Maine always makes me think that this is what it must be like to live in England. I love it.(to many picture books I guess) It's so green, the sky can be so dark, the flowers so bright. I love the rain too. Sometimes.
