Look at Da's tan. Also look at the sun streaming through the window. as many places as I have been, there is nothing as nice as a summer day in Dublin.
I have to agree with you there Colin,
My memories of Crumlin when i was going up of the summers we had are great, it always seem so bright, the streets were clear and always seemed to be white, (no cars on the road)the noise of the kids out playing all of them brown as berries, (Ma used to say that), the girls playing mammy's and daddy's, the boys playing cowboys and Indians with a stick for a gun, or if you had a wheel off a bike Ah, now your talking, Me and Ann were lucky because dad would get us this thick rope for skipping in his job, needless to say we were never short of friends calling to the door!!!"are you coming out to play" were the famous words,on saturday afternoons, if ma had the money, we would all go to the Apollo cinema for the children"s mattinee, the trailers were the best, at the end of every episode there was always a cliff hanger, we had to wait a whole week to see what happened next, the "Chap" never got killed,
i remember aunt Pat got a job as an usher in the Rialto picture house, it was great, she would get free passes and give some to us,i went to see,"The King and I"and "Carousel", they are my Favorite movies of all times, compliments of aunt Pat.
