I am posting both the original and redone versions of this photo. I like the original although it would have been nice to see more of Grandad and less of the background. I am sure we all would like to have both versions. Double click on the photo and then use the 'save photo as' to save to your desktop if you want a copy for yourself.

This is very nice..I have saved a copy..It's as I remember him.
This is great Photo. The connecting point, if you will, between us all. This photo is as I remember him. Today, if he were still living he would be 128 years old. He died when I was a child, so I do not have a good memory of him. All I remember really, is him sitting in the corner of his home when we went to deliver the papers on Sunday morning. Desi with his shirt collar half in and half out and wild hair. They were so nice and kind to us as children. That I remember well. I have very very fond memories of those Sunday mornings, Audrey Brendan Ray and I think Eileen hiking up past the school on Armagh road, and across the field to Granda's house. It seemed like a long trip back then and often took hours. In the Summer we would play chasing all the way home, and buy some candy at the kiosk on the way home with the few coppers Desi gave us. And in the winter we would slip, slide and and weather permitting build snowmen and have snowball fights on the field on the way home. We had a great economy of things back then... we could make a snowman out of a dusting of snow... All it meant was rolling the snowball for miles and miles around the field.
Thats a great memory Colin...
You did a great job on the photo Jim,
It's so nice to see Granda Waddell
that brings back so many memories of that time when we were little. This is how he looked when he would walk down to see mam every Thursday.
Nice recollections of your childhood
Colin.
Well said Colin. I have great memories of Granda too.
Granda Waddell is 38 years dead this year, just seems like yesterday, Granda Walsh died the year after.
This is a lovely picture, we his Waddell Dowling grandchildren (all 4 of us) arrived in Scotland yesterday, tracing his roots in Mauchline today hopefully and for the next few days.
Thanks to Florrie for the pictures, the copies will be treasured.
