President Elect Michael D Higgins Acceptance Speech
I must say that I thought this speech elequent, forceful and sincere. This person has a force all his own and it looks like he will do good. I was particularly impressed by his comments on past accumulations and respect for wealth. A nice change.
I have not lived in Ireland for a long long time. But it seems to me that the officials should sound like the people. That Anglophile, old school, Trinity College accent gets on my nerves.
Did Biffo not sound like the people and what did they get from that. The irish need a ruling class to give them something to aspire to. And by the way, stop slagging my old school, Trinity College accent. I say, I hope I make myself clear Old Boy !

JIm, I think you need to get home a little more often. Ireland is not the place you "romantically" for all that word means, remember.
Don't get me started !
