I have not lived in Ireland for a long long time. But it seems to me that the officials should sound like the people. That Anglophile, old school, Trinity College accent gets on my nerves.
Did Biffo not sound like the people and what did they get from that. The irish need a ruling class to give them something to aspire to.
And by the way, stop slagging my old school, Trinity College accent.

JIm, I think you need to get home a little more often. Ireland is not the place you "romantically" for all that word means, remember.
