I got this from Paul. I thought it had already been posted but apparently not. I don't know who is in the pram or where this was taken but I am sure someone does.
I made the pants that I am wearing. Stitched together from the old clothes that were being saved for the ragman. My stance, indicates this clearly, prideful and a "dont F with the C" look on my face.
Seriously, I remember this very well. We went to portmarnock on the train from the city center. I was the only vacastion I took with Man and Dad, and truly enjoyed my time with them. Then, Portmarnock was very far away, and it was indeed a vacation, as crazy as that seems now. There was a carnival in the church grounds, and a shortcut through the salt marshes from Annes house to the beach. I was a grand adventure and a great time.
Recently, as I was flying into Dublin, we flew directly over the area where Anne lived. Although there were many changes to the area, I could clearly locate from my airplane seat where everything was and it all came back to me. One of the happiest times of my life, on week long vacation with my Mam and Dad.
These are the things we remember when we get older and it is good that you enjoyed it so much at the time. Holidays in those days were very rare things so I'm sure you took in every minute. Was that the kitchen or the front room lino?
