Those drinks certainly bring back memories...balmy evenings, beautiful food...great music, good conversations, great laughs...and my insect bites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is that a Margarita Colin. Looks inviting
It is a Chaparinia.. sp.. It is a Brazilian drink. Jimmy introduced us all to it a few years ago..
Pray tell whats in it, looks cool
Limes, Sugar, Cachaaca, (Brazilian Rum)
Mix it plenty of Walsh's, or even a couple and you are guaranteed a great laugh and great times.
Is it that time already.....time for us to get our tickets!!!!
will have to write the name of the rum,
but it was the right colour for it to be a margarita.
Oh its divine Therese......I love them.....but can't find it here anywhere so if anyone knows!!!....I am quite happy to live out the rest of my years with one of those in my hand!!!!! (not the same one of course!!~)
I love these pics ... so since we can see C&J enjoying a drink on their porch shall I post one of me sitting on my porch sipping a.....- oh no wait I can't cause it's raining, oh no it's lovely now, oh wait raining again, oh damn it hailstones now, oh now the sun is splitting the trees .... but oh two seconds later it's raining again........
This drink can be, and often is, made with White Bacardi. The secret is in crushing the sugar and the limes in the bottom of the glass with a pestle before you add the alcohol and then the ice. A most nourishing drink.
I'll have to make one.yum yum
step by step, quantities to taste I expect, cant risk hangover till weekend. We'll skip the bend in the river Gillian.
I have attached a video which will show you how to make this drink. I think you will need a little more sugar than this barman uses and there is no need to shake. Stirring is enough for Brazilians so it should be good enough for us. The first drink in the video is original caiparinha I am not familiar with the second drink. Most Brazilians just drink the caiparinha. As I said you can use white bacardi rum if you can't find cachasha. Maybe they have some in the supermarket where the bull was.
Jim you can't get it here i have tried everywhere, i wanted to make one for the Mick fella but no joy,
use bacardi
I have a Brazilian student staying with me, her name is Melissa, and she has made this drink for us with red wine. She says you can also make it with vodka. The red wine one was delicious, but not as nice as the original one.
must be what the bull wanted, I really think he fancied a BULLmers .Roll on the weekend.
Therese your gas.I take it your looking forward to the weekend!!!
They call the caiparinha made with vodka a 'caiporaska'. Just ask me , I know everything.
