BBC Fifties Radio Themes

This is such a trip down memory lane for those of us who used to listen to the radio and such programs as music while you work / housewives choice / desert island discs / . It takes me back into a very innocent world of sunday dinner, newspapers and fireplaces.

Mick Mam And Dad 1971

Christmas Greetings

I can't remember on which Christmas this little video was made but it certainly is charming. If another one is done this Christmas I hope everyone will send in a photo.
I don't remember posting it to the blog so here it is now.

Visit By Raymond to 161

This is a video that Paul made and sent to me. I left it unedited because we rarely see Raymond and this is how I remember him exactly. I particularly like the part where he poses for the photo only to be told it is a video camera. Great to see him looking so well. Seeing him is like seeing Dad all over again.

New Camera

This is for all you whippersnappers out there. A nice lesson in how to say the wrong thing to a lady and then dig yourself out of it. I was put in my place anyway I suppose.

Dudley The Scavenger

This has not been a good day. I went shopping for some Chinese ingredients in the local supermarket and brought my ipad in with me with all the recipes to make sure I didn't miss anything.
I then decided to go to a Chinese restaurant and buy the rice instead of making it. I left Dudley in the car and went in. They gave me the rice and then I decided I wanted to taste the wontons to see how they compared to mine. They cooked me six and i took them out to the car almost forgetting my wallet in the process. I had a taste before we took off for home and then Dudley gave me that wistful look that he is so good at. I gave him a taste and he liked it.
Finally got home and realised that I had left my ipad in the shopping cart. I dropped the bags on the floor and rushed to the 'phone to call the supermarket. TG a customer found it and handed it in but it took a good ten minutes to figure the whole thing out. I was so happy not to lose it.
So , I said to myself, now for those wontons with that nice sauce that she gave me with them. I came back into what passes for a living room here and Dudley was licking his lips.
All the wontons were gone. Demolished, devoured, ravaged.
The little brat.

Happy Birthday To Dad.

This is a little collage that I did a couple of years ago and I called it 'Dad Vice Collage'. The pints of Guiness are supposed to represent Mooneys and the horse is supposed to represent P. J. Kilmartins in Crumlin Village. It was all done in good humor and if those were his only vices then he was ok.
