Great, Great photos Eileen. I had my ipod on random last week, and on came Bagatelle's Summer in Dublin. Brought back a lot of memories. That song came out the summer before I left, and a lot was happening in my life.
To this day, there is no memory quite like a summer day in Dublin. When ever I smell honeysuckle or fresh mowed grass it transports me instantly back to childhood. Long long days playing on the road, channel, red-rover, gates, 3-and -in, kick the can. Mostly though, I have great memory of catching bees in the garden area of the Imps. There used to be big flower garden along the back, and also along the side. Very innocent times, the world was big and everything else seemed very far removed.
That song will always remind me of you....x. You sound homesick bro...:( summers never the same as they were in the days you describe from our childhood but when the sunny days do come everything changes....xxxx
You said it Eileen, beautiful on Friday, and back to Winter on Sunday.... The photos are great, and does'nt Jonathan look very much like Jim in this photo? Very nice pics..
Jonathan looks very well in the photos, he does look a lot like Jemzer. I love the picture of the Eileens, it is a great photo. And miss Abbie of course.....
Lovely photos. Not much I remember about summer in Dublin except hikes to the greenhills, the occasional trip to Sandymount where you could smell the sea in the bus as you approached the beach. Buckets and spades and sandy ham sandwiches. Being in O'Connell Street and Grafton Street on a sunny day in the city was magnificent.

These are indeed lovely photos.
Childhood summer days always bring back fond memories of cherished days gone by.
