When this photo was taken Terry had come home to see Dad because Dad was very sick. I don' know what we would have done without him on the Sunday morning when Dad got worse. Dad died the following Thursday.
The few last days I spent with Da will be with me forever. A lifetime of memories condensed into a few days, a walk in the village, a pint in the pub. a fond farewell when we knew we would never meet again. I think of him often.
As poignant as that time was Ter, I know it makes the difference today that you spent that time, as you say, both knowing it would be last. I remember the morning Dad took bad and you and Paul were called back from your fishing trip.....within a matter of hours everyone seemed to have come. It was pretty amazing Dad was sitting up in bed that evening eating a few chips....a fighter he was. Days later he left us but I always feel that Sunday, mams birthday was the day we really knew. Went on and on there, sorry. Stays with you forever...RIP Dad. xx
