What a terrible shame that Phyllis and Lynda were not there when this photo was taken.

Poster For The Theatre In Bahia Brazil

This is a poster from a theatre evening in Bahia with the local Alliance Francaise. I played a piece in a production of Hamlet and the lady pictured here who was one of my friends wives played too.  She was a keen actress and played in a few pieces in Bahia besides this one. We all had a wonderful time.
The bottom picture is a picture of my dear friend Noelle who somehow got me into this project and who also played in quite a few plays in Bahia. We spent many afternoons and some evenings when I was laid up chatting. They were nice quiet and innocent times. I loved chatting to her. We are still in touch  36 years later. The bonds of deep and true friendship last decades as it does for all of the friends I made in those wonderful times of travel and foreign lands when, as expatriates, we were all in the same boat together.
I particularly like this photo of her because it shows her very dramatic and dynamic presence.

Mam At Around Nineteen Years Old.

The lovely Mumsie in her teens. I don't know if she was married at this point but I think this photo was taken at around the same time as the one of Dad and also in the same studio ( I know 'cos I have the original ) a little head turner if ever there was one I'll say and she still looks beautiful.

These photos were taken in Ross Studios in Dublin some seventeen years apart. I had not been born yet when Dad had his photo taken. Amazing, same pose !

Michael Jackson, You Were There - Sammy Davis Jr. Tribute, 1989

This is an extraordinary piece of work by Michael Jackson. He is paying tribute to Sammy Davis Jr. for his long years of paving the way for black entertainers. It shows the great talent that Jackson was. I have always admired him. He has an huge presence and a beautiful voice. It was a great shame to have lost him.

Kissing The Blarney Stone With Paul In 1974

This must have been about a week before the accident. I'm still waiting for the gift of the gab. I think God forgot to send it to me.

Glasnevin Cemetery Tour - Culture Night 2012

This is a very interesting tour of Glasnevin Cemetery. There are lots of interesting facts and things to see. At the start he talks about the Royal College Of Surgeons in Dublin. We were given a full tour of this college while I was in the medical side of the FCA as a teenager. It was amazing. There were bodies, body parts, things in jars that you wouldn't believe and a surgeon to explain it all to us. It was all very clean and hygienic so there was nothing that would make us feel queasy except for the sight of the dead bodies.
