Used to run into Ronnie all the time in Eniskerry, I guess he lived near there. Drove a mercedes wagon. We would be wondering through the the town on our way camping or on our way home. He woutd twitch his head, wink his eye and say, howya lads.
I met him a few years ago in a pub in Lisdonvarna. He was sitting at the bar in a very ugly brown pinstripe suit, and smoking a Monte Cristo. Had a nice chat with him, later saw him perform in the hotel. Terrible guitar player, but I thought he was great. An old pro, putting on a great show. Andy and Patty did not know what to make of him. Like you say, a real Dubs Dub.
