This is an amazing piece of work and well worth watching if you have the time. I felt sorry for the poor man just trying to do his job but in the end I wish more people would stand up to so called authority in this fashion. I wish I had this man's ability to argue in a lot of situations that I have been in myself. How is it that we always think of what we should have said a few hours later. Education is a great thing.
This is fascinating, and very teling in both the importance of education, and the motives behind depriving a general public of it.
Cudos to this guy, and his fascinating and powerful argument. As I listend to this guy, I could easily hear Paul making the case, with his amazing knowledge of Ireland and sense of justice and fairness. Imagine such educational opportunities were available to us in our youth. Imagine how different things would be.
I think presence of mind is a big factor here. Belonging to a debating group in school must be a great thing. It helps you keep your focus and stay on the offensive in any argurment. There are a lot of tricks and games to be played by those who know how to play them and they can tie you up in knots whether you are right or wrong. I've seen it happen a lot and in my own humble way have used them although hardly against any intellectual adversary.
