The hydraulics on this plane failed just after take off so there was no control on the rudder or ailerons. The wheels didn't retract so there was a huge drag. The plane had to be maneuvered by engine power to land. That explains the wobbling in the air. This could have been a huge catastrophe and only the pilot's skill prevented a crash.
Great little session with Mam Pat and the girls during Colin and Joanne's visit to Ireland. These were regular events in the house and usually took place around 11 pm as soon as Dad left for work, poor fella he also had a great voice.
In winter everyone would sit around the fireplace and sing all these songs.
On the 3rd of September 1975 my good friend Bernard Brazier and myself went into a jewelers in Cairo Egypt and bought our Rolexes together. Mine cost 200 Egyptian Pounds and it was a big day for both of us. I think that was our wages for the month. Still ticking away 37 years later and it has only been cleaned and overhauled twice.
