Attention The Walsh/ Waddell Womenfolk

I would like to do a special little thing/slideshow/montage/ of all the women in the fambly. I would like to get some photos of you all so if you could send me your favorite photo I would appreciate it. Send it to my email. I would like Mam ( I already have a lot of photos of her ) all the daughters and all the daughters daughters. I will do one on all the grandchildren later. Umpqua River Over It's Banks

Still playing with the camcorder and the program. You can see how fast the river is. The dogs can't swim here because they would be swept away in the current. In the summer this area is great for children and you can walk across the river on the stones.

Phyllis's Scarf.

This is a great scarf and I get lots of comments on it. It always attracts attention for it's size and the fact that it is so unique. It is very, very warm in cold weather and performs the difficult task of being not only a fashion piece but also of serving  it's true purpose, which is of course, to keep you warm. So thanks again Phyllis. Great job and I always tell those who ask " My sister knit that"..

Speaking of great jobs: the very first Aran sweater I ever had was knit by Mam. This was from untreated wool that still had some of the oils in it. It was for a very special occasion and Mam knit it in 2 to 3 days. I can still see her, bleary eyed and clicking away with the needles. This was in the time of the Clancy Brothers so they were all the rage.

She did a wonderful job and to tell the truth, it was only years after that I really appreciated what she did. Isn't that typical?

Anne also knit me a great Aran polo type sweater that I still have. As soon as I lose a few pounds I will get back into it.

Mam With Terry In The Pram, O'Connell St Bridge

This was in 1947. This is not a good photo of Mam but it is great to see it anyway. She was much prettier than this photo lets on and I am sure it was because she hadn't moved to Crumlin yet and she was unhappy where we were living. It was in Marlborough St. and it was not suited for a small new family. Dad was working so Mam would take walks to get out of the place for a few hours. This must have been one of those walks. She was happier once she got to Crumlin.

This is a great photo. They both look so handsome and sharp and carefree. They have great style and are so well dressed. Great shot! Looks like they are on the ferry or something. Maybe it was their honeymoon.
